A family hub is a place where children, young people and their families can go when in need of help and support. The people working in the family hub will work in partnership with you and your community. At the heart of Family Hubs are services that give babies a great start for life, helping parents build strong relationships with their babies by providing things like parenting classes, midwifery, health visiting, infant feeding advice and perinatal mental health support.
TGP made donations to the two hubs for resurfacing outdoor play areas to include wheelchair access and planters / trees.
“The family hubs in the Thurrock east locality on average have a footfall of 175 families per day.
Many of the community live in flats and access to safe place to play is limited, the new spaces that Tilbury Green Power have transformed have enabled families to access the gardens and play outside in a safe place.
The garden has been excellent and enabled families to play outside all year long.
The families have really enjoyed using this vital space.
During our summer events the families enjoyed the growing groups and growing their own fruit and vegetables.
The new area has enabled us to have more families access the hub as families have an extra space to use.”
