Part of the Trussell Trust network of food bank centres in the UK providing 3/5 days of emergency food to people who have been referred through one of numerous referral agencies. They have 10 centres across Thurrock providing food parcels to Thurrock residents who are struggling and have been referred by one of the referral agencies.
In 2023-24, they delivered 7,974 emergency food supplies to local people in crisis and 56% of people using the foodbank are either single or are a single parent family.

“Thank you for your generous donation towards the work of Thurrock Foodbank.
This donation will go directly towards supporting people across Thurrock who are struggling to feed their families during these difficult times. This donation will help demonstrate that people do care.
As you can imagine, these continue to be difficult times for us all, and there are continuous demands for our services, as well as increasing costs. As a charity we get no support from governmental bodies, so are totally reliant on donations and support from individuals, groups, churches, businesses and Schools. Insurance alone for our van is £1,800 per year.
Sadly, since 1st April 2024 we have issued 5,358 food parcels of which 2,412 included children. It is so incredibly sad that there is still a need for our type of service in these modern times in the UK. This is a 6% increase on the same period last year and sadly more than 56% of the people we have helped in the last 12 months, have come to Thurrock Foodbank for the first time.
All contributions help us in our strategic planning for the future, to ensure we provide the required services and find the best ways to support the communities across Thurrock. We are now implementing new strategies to work alongside people being able to offer various levels of support and to ensure they get the specific help that they need and to provide them with “Hope for a better future”.
Through these difficult times, we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of organisations like Tilbury Green Power towards our work, as we continue to seek how to bless those we serve, in the future.
So, on behalf of everyone at Thurrock Foodbank a big “Thank you” to you all at Tilbury Green Power, for this wonderful donation, and your continued support for our work, it is so very much appreciated. “
